The Jozefínum Emergency Shelter for Women was established in response to the urgent need to provide a safe and secure environment for women facing crisis situations. It is named after St. Joseph, the protector of families and patron saint of those experiencing hardship.
The idea for the project emerged from many years of experience in supporting people experiencing homelessness and from the conviction that women in vulnerable situations require specialised, sensitive, and compassionate assistance tailored to their specific needs.
Jozefínum is a place where women experiencing homelessness or facing crisis situations can find safe accommodation, essential living necessities, and professional support. The shelter's mission is not only to provide temporary housing but also to offer the assistance and guidance needed to help women regain independence, rebuild their lives, and successfully reintegrate into society.
Through a combination of practical support, counselling, and individualised care, Jozefínum helps women restore stability, confidence, and hope for the future.
Our mission is to protect the dignity of women who have found themselves without safety, stability, or support.
At Jozefínum, we provide:
We firmly believe that every woman deserves the opportunity for a new beginning and the chance to build a secure and hopeful future.
Jozefínum is located in a peaceful environment that allows women to navigate difficult periods of their lives with dignity and stability. The facility operates thanks to the dedication of professional staff and volunteers who support residents with respect, compassion, and empathy.
Its activities are funded through public resources, grants, and charitable donations, enabling services to be provided free of charge to those in need.
Jozefínum is more than just a roof over one’s head – it is a place where women can rediscover hope, regain a sense of security, and find the strength to move forward and build a better future.
