The St. Charles de Foucauld Clinic was established in response to the long-term needs of people living in the Dbayeh Refugee Camp near Beirut, Lebanon. The camp is home to many families who have fled war and persecution but now live in conditions where access to basic healthcare services remains very limited.
The project follows the legacy of St. Charles de Foucauld, who dedicated his life to serving the poorest and most marginalised members of society.
The St. Charles de Foucauld Clinic provides accessible healthcare services directly to residents of the Dbayeh Refugee Camp and the surrounding communities. It serves as a primary point of care for people who are ill, injured, or in need of preventive and long-term medical support.
The project is operated under the auspices of St. Elizabeth University of Health and Social Work, which combines professional expertise with a commitment to serving vulnerable populations at the international level.
Our goal is to make healthcare accessible to people who would otherwise be unable to receive it. In the refugee camp environment, health is often threatened by poor living conditions, inadequate sanitation, poverty, and limited access to medicines.
At the clinic, we provide:
Basic medical consultations and treatment
Paediatric care for children
Gynaecological services for women
Vaccinations and preventive health programmes
Distribution of medicines and medical supplies
Treatment of acute illnesses and injuries
Referral and coordination of further medical care in hospitals
The clinic is a place where people receive not only medical assistance but also compassion, dignity, and support while facing the challenges of life in the refugee camp.
The project operates thanks to the dedication of doctors, nurses, volunteers, and students who combine professional expertise with a commitment to service. It is funded through grants, international partnerships, and donations, which make it possible to provide healthcare services free of charge to those in need.
The St. Charles de Foucauld Clinic is a symbol of solidarity and hope, bringing healthcare, dignity, and security to people who would otherwise have little access to essential medical services.
